President's Message

Fellow Rotarians,

Last week’s meeting was one with the emphasis on youth. Abbotsleigh Interact members Mackenzie Garside and Annie Zhang were accompanied by their teacher Janine Cooper, assistant (and sister) to Lynne Bradfield with the Interact Club.

Over the past twelve months we have been discussing with Lynne Bradfield the possible involvement of the Interact members in helping to sort and repatriate foreign coins. I advised Janine that we would organise a visit to explain the coin program in detail.

Our nomination for Youth Exchange, Heidi Green and her father, Chris, were also present as well as the birthday boy Jonas and host mother Kylie.

Ralf recounted his experience of the cyclone on Hayman Island – an in-depth account of surviving this scary event.

Name badges and pins are being organised by Peter. Also T shirts, hats and aprons are in the process of being chosen and will be available in due course.

Many thanks to Gail for organising our cruise on the Hawkesbury - weather perfect, company perfect and a wonderful day, including a pleasant trip by rail. Let’s do it again.

Yours in Rotary

Geoff

Service Above Self

Thank you to all our members, and their companies, who underwrite our Club's activities and this publication.

The 4-Way Test
1. Is it the TRUTH?
2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?"

The Object Of Rotary

The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:
FIRST. The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;
SECOND. High ethical standards in business and professions, the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations, and the dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity to serve society;
THIRD. The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian's personal, business, and community life;
FOURTH. The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.

Attendee’s Reminder
