International

From our Monthly Bulletin for July 2020

I would like to confirm the figures from our Coin Program since the program began in 1996. The project was started by our past member Adrian Garton, who is a Past President of the Rotary Clubs of Singleton and Orange, and a current member of the RC of Orange.

As at the end of December 2019, the total amount of monies converted and received is as follows:

Total amount repatriated $565,858.47. After expenses (boxes, 1300 phone number, stationery), amount netted $537,616.58. We have contributed to the Rotary Foundation an amount of $117,405.15 – a fabulous effort. Funds have also been donated to malaria research and many other international projects.

Last week President Kylie visited my warehouse and took an inventory of goods in hand, to be placed in the DG’s newsletter. We were able to distribute 6 boxes of crew clothing from Carnival Cruise ships – these are on the way to New Guinea. We received 3 phone calls regarding the toiletries, which were given to RC of Penrith to be distributed to the homeless in that area.

10,000 coffee cups, straws and spoons were sent to RC of Cowra. Next week we will send another 9000, plus 8 portable fans to Ian Docker, President of RC of Cowra. He is in need of more toiletries for the homeless in the Cowra District – does anyone know where we can get some?

We have had more enquiries on the cane chairs – we have 17 available which we hope to sell to top up our funds
